JPMorgan Chase stands head and shoulders above other U.S. banks in more than just assets.

JPMorgan Chase is by far the favorite national bank among U.S. consumers. In a recent survey among 591 bank customers by Mobile Digital Insights, JPMorgan Chase was chosen as the favorite bank, followed by Capital One and Citibank.

Despite being longstanding, national players that almost half of the population has banked with at some point, more consumers dislike Bank of America and Wells Fargo than like them.

However, while talk of “favorites” is a small part of the overall learnings, each bank brand queried in this study came away with something to be learned.

“Instead of being the old, stodgy, financial behemoth that it might be, Chase satisfies customers more than its other smaller rivals by providing better service and convenient products and services,” says Ron Gailey, President of MDI Americas and longtime banking consultant. “Chase seems to have also turned some of its customers into missionaries, voluntarily spreading positive news about the brand.”

Methodology

These findings come from MDI’s BrandCategorySurvey™ conducted in October 2019 among the general U.S. population. Sixteen hundred (n=1,600) adults (+/- 2%), ages 18 and older, participated in the online survey. Please let us know if you’d like to learn more!
